Rotorua Bay of Plenty Modified Champs winner 6a Brian Jesen , Bay of Plenty Minisprint Champs winner 3nz Brian Edwards House of Travel Stockcar Series , House of Travel Superstock Series 50 Lap Streetcar Race There is no denying there was plenty on offer to the patrons of Paradise Valley raceway on this night and for the admission price of $12.00 I doubt anyone went away disappointed . There is a perfectly good review of the meeting on the Rotorua website so I suggest you read that for racing action detail Fields were good , 11 Modifieds , 17 Superstocks , 30 Stockcars (all local bar 2 from Huntly) , 14? Minisprints plus a good sized field of Production Saloons . The racing overall was fine but I thought the Stockcars were a bit on the tame side and although many small incidents happened mostly it was because of the numbers on the track . Early days yet though and many of them haven't had much racing yet this season so I will give them a bit of time to get up to speed in the aggression stakes . The Modifieds looked to struggle with the track in the early evening but as the cool night air came down things improved to the point they were pulling wheelstands on the straights and turning real quick laps. Full marks too for the lack of carnage . The Superstocks thundered around quite nicely until the Wade 85h tank nailed the Redfern 96h in heat two and stole the limelight for the rest of the night . On a more personal note , a special thanks to Graham Brockelsby of Saloon
5k fame , great to have a chat too .
