Ministocks in Paradise Finals night
By Macgor

Can't say I was overly enthused about the prospect of watching a night of Youth Ministock racing but with the track just a few minutes up the road , the fact the class is worth it's weight in gold as far as breeding great racers for the adult classes and a feeling it was my duty to at least take a look I meandered up to see what was happening expecting nothing much so I was unlikely to be disappointed .

The pits were packed with Ministocks , the entry list for the two nights was some 130 plus names long .

The racing was good , entertaining with plenty of skills and skirmishes to kept the small but appreciative audience focussed . Ministocks are supposedly non contact but if you put a kid in something that looks like a stockcar then you are going to get stuff happening and so it did on a few occasions and I was witness to a couple of right turns being executed .

I stayed for two rounds of racing and only left because the cold was getting to me . Had me think though that if our speedway was reduced to being only ministock racing I would most likely still be a watcher . Well done Girls and Boys.

Would like to have included the final result on this page but after race protests has the results left to be decided once technical checks on cars have been completed .

It would seem to me that the only real problem with Youth Ministock racing lies with the adults who put the cars together for the kids to race .
