No More Observing Part 2 , Part 1

“A big weekend of work resulted in a fantastic start towards the opening weekend.  Without a doubt this would not have been possible without the generosity of John and Tony Oliver and the use of Oliver’s Auto Specialists to help prepare the car.  This dream wouldn’t be possible without there help, honesty, and integrity.  Not to mention the speedway passion!  They will see you right on the West Coast if you ever need any help, remember Oliver’s Auto Specialists, 03 768 7602.

Also stepping up too motivate the team when we were flagging was Smasher Stewart – Guy arrived in a hurricane, and kicked off with some timely welds, and reappeared to give the assembly a head start after the paint fumes had taken a heap out of us.  Also instrumental in getting the motor into place without scratching too much paint – thanks Stewy, and I believe you when you tell me you’ll get ten times that in paint in the first corner!

Also the “teacher” Towbar Terris gave a lesson on welding up hill to get those last minute welds we hadn’t spotted when the car was on its side – thanks mate, those really helped move us along.”

Finally, a division of Greymouth Car Centre, Clevos Paint Shop arrived after I had left with an awesome job on the body and bonnet – thanks for the use of the guns as well mate, it helped man handle that engine into place.  Hopefully a few clearer pictures of the paint job will come through once the next visit is programmed in.

A great turnout at a stockcar meeting on Friday night saw the boys keen for a touch of teams racing later in the season, and with 10 cars roughly looking ready for the opening meeting, and a few visitors mentioning there keenness it looks like a great start to the season.  If anyone is interested in coming over contact John Oliver, Stockcar Rep on 03 768 7602.”
